Home Visits
When illness strikes, leaving your home to visit the clinic can be a challenge. At Vale GP, we provide exceptional care through our home visit service, ensuring you and your family receive the care you need in the comfort of your own home. Our private home visit service offers the flexibility of choosing a convenient time for a GP to visit your home or office. We can conduct a comprehensive medical assessment and provide prescriptions, all while you focus on your recovery and well-being.
Pain Management
Here at Vale Wellness we recognise the impact of pain on your daily life, emotional well-being, and overall health. Musculoskeletal pain can range from acute to chronic, affecting muscles, bones, tendons, ligaments, and nerves. It may be localised or more widespread, often seen in conditions like tendonitis and arthritis. Numerous factors, from past injuries to autoimmune reactions, can trigger musculoskeletal pain, making it vital to consult with a GP or our in-house Physiotherapy team to effectively manage your symptoms. Our assessment and review services are tailored to identify the source of your pain and create a personalised treatment plan, ensuring that even minor discomfort receives the attention it deserves.
Lifestyle
If you need guidance and support for living a healthier lifestyle, we can assist and provide services like blood test assessments, continuous glucose monitoring, and advice on maintaining a healthy gut microbiome.

Private Sick Notes
Illness can not only cause stress – it can significantly affect your well-being when it necessitates time off work. While short absences typically allow for self-certification for up to seven days, longer-term conditions may require a private medical certificate. Some employers insist on medical certification for absences of less than 7 days, we can facilitate this. At Vale Wellbeing, we aim to alleviate this burden by providing a thorough assessment and issuing private sick certificates, allowing you to prioritise your recovery without added concern.
Acute & Repeat Private Prescriptions
We pride ourselves on ensuring prompt and convenient access to essential medications. Following a comprehensive consultation, be it in person, over the phone, or at home, we facilitate the arrangement of prescriptions. For our regular patients, we often offer repeat prescriptions for various medications. These can be conveniently sent to your selected pharmacy, Cowbridge Pharmacy, or delivered to a location of your choice, including your home or workplace. Please be aware that we do not prescribe or supply controlled drugs, and all prescriptions are at the discretion of our GP.
Private referrals
With decades of experience among our general practitioners, we are well-positioned to provide advice and contact specialists for you. We’ve built a network of excellent specialists within Cardiff, the UK and beyond, and if we don’t know who is best for you, we will find out.
Blood Tests
We’re here to empower you with a deep understanding of your physical well-being, supporting you in making informed choices about your health and lifestyle through thorough blood tests. Every test is delivered by a qualified healthcare professional who will take your sample and support you during and beyond your appointment. We aim to put you in control, helping you assess and interpret your health metrics and their significance for your overall wellbeing. Take that first step – schedule your appointment today.
Urine Tests
Urine testing serves a vital role in aiding your doctor’s understanding of your health, enabling accurate diagnoses and tailored care. Urine testing is applicable in various situations, including pregnancy, kidney disease, chlamydia screening, cardiovascular disease and diabetes assessments. Urine sampling is especially important for patients with recurrent infections or an infection resistant to treatment.
ECG
An ECG not only records your heart’s electrical activity but can also identify irregular heart rhythms, signal abnormalities, or assess palpitations. It is a valuable tool for assessing potential heart disease or detecting past cardiac damage. All ECGs are reviewed by a consultant cardiologist. Please note that a referral letter from a consultant or GP is necessary before booking any diagnostic investigation.
Imaging (CT, MRI, Ultrasound)
Where required, we refer patients for diagnostic imaging.
